The Undocking of the "Norwegian Gem" at Meyer Werft is planned for August 12th 2007.

Upon completion of tests and engine trials the 93,500 gt cruise ship NORWEGIAN GEM will leave the covered building dock of MEYER WERFT on Sunday, 12 August.

Undocking of the ship, which is built for the American cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), will start around 7.45 a.m. If weather conditions are favourable, the manoeuvre will be finished within a couple of hours.

Meyer Werft add that changes of the undocking procedure may occur due to weather conditions!

With the ship being berthed at the outfitting pier, outstanding work will be completed on board.

The River Ems passage of the newbuilding to the sea trials port in Eemshaven/Netherlands is planned for mid September 2007.

The company say a detailed schedule will be published soon.

The new luxury liner has a length overall of 294.13 m, is 32.2 m wide and reaches a speed of more than 24 knots. More than 2,400 passengers can be accommodated in 1,197 cabins and are taken care of by a crew of about 1,100.
