Suzila
Just got off NCL Pride of America...granted, it was Hawaii, which is more casual anyway, but 'nice jeans' were allowed in the dining rooms. No ripped jeans, no flip flops, and none of the men had t-shirts. Collared shirts were the order of the day for men. The guys in our group wore collared shirts and Dockers every evening, the ladies wore capris or slacks or dresses. No sports coats, no ties, no gowns. There was one formal night, and there were some people dressed to the hilt, but most were not. Mostly it was the people who wanted their formal pictures taken...and it almost seemed like most people did not. We didn't. Personally, I like the policy. It makes cruising more casual, and we enjoy that. Many times on a non-NCL cruise we dress up for formal night and then rush back to the cabin to change into casual clothes before enjoying the evening's festivities because we don't want to be in uncomfortable, formal clothes. Coming from California, we are more casual out here anyway, so I'd say NCL's policy fits us just fine. It's one of the things we really liked about the cruise. TheSkipper
I've been expecting this from NCL for a couple of years. Not one of their fans, so it will make no difference to me since I have no plans to cruise with them anyway. We too enjoy formal nights after 49 cruises!! hazelson
It would be nice to not take so much on the plane - and to Hawaii even better. I think I might like it on that run.
