On one cruise, we were joined by DW's two sisters and their husbands. As we were heading toward our cabins, her youngest sister rushed ahead (what else is new) dragging her wheeled carry-on behind her down the corridor. She stopped suddenly to look into an open cabin door (ever done that?) and three people ran into her and they all ended up on the deck! Thank goodness no one was hurt, but it sure was funny

We were due to cruise to New England and Canada 3 weeks after 9/11. After much debating we finally decided to go on the cruise. After visiting Quebec we spent the next morning cruising on the Saguenay River. The scenery was breathtaking with the fall colors being at their peak. After crusing down the river for a couple of hours they pointed out a statue of the Blessed Virgin - high up on a cliff. It was erected and transported up the cliff by a fisherman whose boat sank nearby. He prayed to the Blessed Mother and promised if his life was spared he would erect such a statue. It took him years to do but he did keep his promise.

When we reached the cliff the ship turned to face the Statue and "Ave Maria" was played over the ships speaker system. I'm still getting goose bumps just thinking of it again. A truly amazing moment.

I can't cut the list down to one, so I'll do the top three.

When the Regent Seven Seas Navigator landed in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Joan was dressed as Anne of Green Gables. She stayed in character and costume all day, giving us several memorable moments: handing out pastries to another "Anne" on the dock, getting photographed by female Japanese tourists (for whom Anne is a cult object) at Green Gables; giving her Anne wig and bonnet to the tour guide at the end of the day, and other moments. Joan/Anne made that the most memorable cruise day I've ever had.

That trip was a jazz cruise, and all of the jazz was memorable. When the musicians, incuding RandY Sandke, Bucky Pizzarelli, and other greats, weren't playing, they were mixing with other passengers. They were all warm and friendly, and they added to a great cruise.

Or Med. cruise on the Wind Surf was filled with memorable moments. Was our most memorable moment the gorgeous evening sailaways, or was it the first time we realized that the engine was off and we were under sail? We think of the entire two weeks as one memorable moment after another.
