If you could design a cabin.....

If you could design a cabin, how would it differ to today's cabins? What would you add and/or subtract from the typical cabin.

I would add an espresso machine with all the coffees and necessary additives! To be able to make coffees whenever I pleased. I would also put larger flat screen TV's in the cabins with a large variety of movies to watch at the flick of a button.... no extra charge!!

I would definitely put more electrical outlets in the cabin, plus one on the balcony.

Also I would like to see them do away with those shower curtains that cling to your wet butt, and put in glass doors!!

One thing that always got me about guest rooms (as opposed to crew rooms), was the lack of any real storage. I know you're only on the ship for a short time...but the average cruise passenger brings more luggage for 1 week than a crew member brings for an entire contract. We have loads of closets in our cabins, and we even have computers in the new ships. It would be nice to see guest cabins have more of that.

ummm....I was pretty happy with my room last year on the Pride. But....I did like Cheryl's suggestion of an electrical plug out on the balcony. And perhaps some more comfortable seating out there.

Hey Cheryl what electric gadgets are you using on the balcony?? I try not to disturb my neighbors who are usually also out on their balcony, so we're pretty quiet when we are outside.

Jackie , this is a great question. Great answers, everyone. I would like soap dispensers instead of the bar soap for the sink, just like they have the shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower. I don't like to use bar soap at all.
