JoeyandDavid
I am at the beginning stage of considering about taking a cruise out of San Juan sometime in 2008. With all the TA's and knowledgable posters that call CruiseCrazies home........Could we start a discussion as to informational links and recommended Pre or Post Cruise Hotels for San Juan?... Sunbeam
Loved it. We had a Concierge Class room -- beautiful. Service was very good. We felt we already knew the ship as we were on the Mercury the year before. You can see my pictures. http://community.webshots.com/album/558482613cPdykt

Sunbeam
On the Galaxy, that will be nice, since I saw your post that they were going to fix her up a bit.

Sunbeam
wanted to bump this up while I was gone to see if any new information may be out there from all our new members! joey Sorry Joey if I took so long to get back to you. We stayed at the Marriott Condado November 9th and we simply loved it. It is in a nice corner of San Juan with loads of restaurants of different price range. Loved the fact that it was on the ocean and we went swimming in the morning. It is not very far from the pier - from hotel to our cabin it took 40 minutes (including check-in)

RNSANE
I will give you the email of a forensic nurse colleague in San Juan or contact her, Joey, for recommendations. Yolanda is a "local girl" - while I've been to San Juan fifty times in about twenty years, it's now been at least ten years since I've been there. Mostly, I wasn't cruising out of San Juan but staying there so I didn't care about being near the port - stayed at practically every place in the area - the El San Juan, Condado Plaza, Caribe Hilton, El Convento. Now there are newer and nicer hotels, I am sure. I've been all over the island to many paradores, improved my Spanish considerably, even had a wonderful romance for a couple of years! That was in my skinnier days!
