I for one like to see my room steward once in a while while on vacation just so I can have adjustments to my cruise.. things like I need more ice in the evenings or more fruit or do you have other pillows... or even you are doing a heck of a job...

I know others never want to see their steward.. they are just as cointent no matter what.. so my poll question today.... thinking back on most of your cruises.... how many time DID you see your room stewards

On a seven day / night cruise how many times would you LIKE to see your room steward?

I put us in the 3-4 catagory... we like to introduce ourself at the beginning... make adjustments in the middle and thank them at the end...but I gotta tell you that most of the time I never see them.... unless it's on our way to dinner.. then it's always have a nice evening ..

Ours must stay under our bed because we seldom see them. We checked once or twice, which is about correct. I think they like our schedule of staying out late and sleeping late. We've always (knocking on wood) had great stateroom service.

I checked 3-4. Certainly we like to see him the first day to iron out all of our little problems, but a few more times is OK just to assure that if there are any further needs arise, we'll get it taken care of.

I picked once or 2. Maybe because the last cruise that we took was on the Crown Princess and he was always there in the hallway attending to all the staterooms with all his tools in the way, morning and night and I got tired of seeing him. We had trouble getting our cabin done.

One day, we said goodbye to him and told him that we were going on an excursion and would be back in 3 hours and when we came back, our cabin was not done.

I like to meet the person and really love the ghost service

I chose 'never'.

I've been on cruises where the steward has actually sat us down on our bed when we first got onboard, introduced himself, and explained how we could get in touch with him, etc. Hubby and I sat on the bed listening to him, and trying to keep a straight face throughout his speech. We felt like he was the teacher and we were the 'bad' students!

I prefer when the we get onboard, the steward meets us at the door, introduces himself, and then we only see him in the hallways. Most times if we need something, I will leave the steward a note on our bed, and leave the cabin. If we really need something at other times I'd rather just give him a call on the phone, tell him what we need, and that's that.

Other than that, I don't need to see him at all.

I checked every day. It seemed like on the last cruise, something cropped up every day that we wanted to call to his attention, such as having the balcony wall between our friends verandah and ours, opened in port, and a few other little things. I much preferred seeing him in the hallway to having to page him. I think we probably did see him every day this past cruise. It seems like every night when we left for dinner, he was in the hallway or in one of the neighboring cabins with his cart.
