What is your traditional Sail Away Beverage...?

If I am on Royal Caribbean, my first drink of every cruise is the first drink I had on my first Royal Caribbean ship, the Monarch ( sailing out of San Juan on April 16, 1995 ) - it's called a Love Connection - half pina colada, half strawberry daiquairi, with pureed mango on top and a rum floater....I couldn't start my cruise without it.

It was served to me by Simon Meneses and he is till there on the Monarch, nearly 13 years later.

thats why I wanted to call it a beverage ....as not to offend our participants that prefer refreshments of the non alcohol veriaty.... :biggrin: ..........

Now back to the question....mine is a bloodymary or martini (vodka or gin).. David's either a beer or a jack and coke...

If we're cruising Celebrity then it's a Chocolate Martini. On Princess we usually open a bottle of wine on our balcony and celebrate the sail away.

It's funny, I find myself drinking all the fun drinks of my youth as a student nurse in New Orleans...things such as Velvet Hammers and Golden Cadillacs. I have to tell the bartenders how to make them. Now that they have mint on board for mojitos, I can even get mint juleps...after all, I AM a Southern belle, originally from Georgia!
