zebra
John thanks for all the detail (as usual) I can always count on you! Can you give me your take on the tipping requirements and price of drinks? We were looking at the Norwegian Jewel which does a great Transatlantic - being a 14 day cruise we don't want to be stuck on a ship for 2 weeks if it's not going to be a happy experience. Last question: Do they have daily activities like trivia etc and of course good ole Bingo? As this cruise has many sea days we like to have options of things to do during the day - swimming is not ideal in April unless it's a heated pool. JohnG
I haven't found drinks to be any more expensive on NCL than any other line. They are all expensive NCL, like the other lines, adds the gratuities to the shipboard account, as a service charge, of $10 per person per day. For children 3-12 it is $5 per day. On the NCL ships I have been on they have bingo (my wife plays sometimes), and other events. All cruise lines make a point on any transatlantic to have activities to help pass the time. zebra
Thanks again John - one last question..... how would you describe the quality, taste and variety of their food? We really enjoy the food on Celebrity, HAL and Princess.
JohnG
The quality in the specialty restaurants is superb. In the main restaurants they have fewer entrees than most cruiselines, but it was great.
