JoeyandDavid
With the discussion of the new National ID Standards and with the burden of proof to show legal status the resonsibility of the citizen my question is .... Do you have a passport? If not, why not...

rogue
We've had passports for about 8 years. We decided that it would be easier to travel with a passport than with several forms of ID. We were correct.
Peddler
We started traveling abroad about 5 years ago. Being born outside the USA (U.K.), it was easier for me to have a passport than to lug all the necessary papers. Later Jim

Do you think that the countries of Europe and other parts of the world are more likely to get a passport for their children at a younger age than we do here?....Do you think those citizens are programmed to be more pro passport because of the international travel that occurs in those parts of the world ... Joey Yessir I believe that they are more likely mainly because the countries are smaller and travel between European countries is more prevelant. We in the USA have been spoiled and now we're having to comply. Later Jim

cruisetarp
We got ours about 8 years ago and even got them for the twins when they went on their cruise last August. Sure does make traveling much easier. I don't know why people are so upset about needing them and wait so long.

Peddler
I don't know why people are so upset about needing them and wait so long. I am doumbfounded... " Well I've never needed it before" " I'm not a terrorist, why do I need one" " I have plenty of time to get one as I,m cruising in 5 mo." " I just don't understand" If it has to do with my safety and the safety of the USA, I'm all for it. A little inconvenience is well worth the feeling of being secure.
