waf125
Good morning!! MaryLou- I am so sorry you had a bad night. Lee finally had a better night, but I have bumped his prednisone up from 15 mg to now 40 mg. He only got up once. I always help Lee drive a couple of hours going down, but never the whole trip. I used to love car trips but not anymore. Last time down we saw a bad accident on the way down and their were suitcases all over the road. It was very sad to see. I guess that just made me nervous about driving. We are just going to take our time. We are packing a cooler with sandwich stuff and cold drinks. Peggy- are you thru packing? I need to get my bu@# in gear this w/e. Have to go get some coffee so I can function. Later.............. Martha
peggyg
Hi Marylou & Martha Elaine just left here we went shopping, well she went shopping and I went with her , we went to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's - yuck, not good today. I know what you mean about driving I used to love to drive and take long rides in the car but not I hate it - after about 2 hrs. I need to get up and walk around and I get so restless I don't think I could do a car trip to Fl. anymore. It is freezing out today and so windy - and we still have at least 4 months of this crap LOL BTW I am almost finished packing - everything that I have to put in the suitcase is hanging in the closet ready to go. waf125
HI- We spent today focused on the cruise. Put all my excursion papers together, got out envelopes to put the exact amount of each excursion and label. Will leave them in the safe and take them out when the time comes. We even made one for the slot pull. Went shopping and bought some toys for the grandkids. Got 2 shirts to replace the ones ruined, got my eyebrows waxed. Lee got a haircut (finally!!!!). Got most of my things out to pack, just need to put things in the suitcases. Lee finally got out the suitcases yesterday, I think, so they are airing out. Whew! Just typing all that made me tired!!!! Aubrey has a cold and now pink eye. Poor thing, her eye was matted shut this am. They took her to the doctor and the medication cost them $40 with insurance!! I heard that med is really expensive and costs some people $80. Now why is that???? What a rip off. I am really down on pharmaceutical companies; have seen too much. Okay, I'm off my soap box now. Have a good evening! Martha
cruisetarp
Martha - you and I are so alike. I also did all my envelopes yesterday and went through my files and took out what I needed and discarded everything else. How is Lee doing today? Glad you got some new tops to replace the ones the cleaners ruined. Are they going to reimburse you for anything? Now I'm nervous since I took all of Jim's shirts including his 2 new Tux shirts to the cleaners. Better go get them and check them carefully. Hope Aubrey is doing better. I agree, the price of meds is ridiculous. I think I told you the 1/2 oz. of nose spray that TJ has for his "bleeds" costs $800 - that is insane. Peggy - glad you and Elaine had a good day shopping. Sounds like you are all ready. How are you getting to the train station. Do you have to go into NYC to Grand Central or can you pick up the train by you? Time to run - Dining room is still a mess but I'm making headway. Today I think I will begin going thru the Christmas buckets down stairs and deciding what we will bring up for this year and what we will pass on. We have so much stuff I don't know where to begin. (Will have to sneak it up a little at a time when Jim isn't looking.) He said this year the tree goes up and the village goes up - that's it! NO WAY! Be back later. Have a good day. NOT LONG NOW!! waf125
Good morning! I could have sworn I posted here earlier. Must be more tired than I thought! I am coming down with something. Up most of night coughing. Have post nasal drainage I think. Just really tired today but have too much to do... Babysitting the girls this evening so Scott & Monica can go out to dinner. Peggy- I love Grand Central Station!! Is that where you are leaving from?? You are sooooo lucky. I hope you have a smooth ride down. Lee is doing better on the increased dose of prednisone. Not good for him, but which is worse; not being able to function and in severe pain or prednisone with all its side effects???? Not sure, at this point. At least he goes Wednesday for his next infusion. Will be back later........
peggyg
Hi Marylou - I am leaving from Newark NJ - and my friend Bridgets b/f LOL is taking us down my son will be picking us up. It is too hard to get to Penn Station from here because we would have to change trains in Secaucus and then take the tube to Penn Station and with luggage it is too difficutl - in 2 yrs they will have trains directly into Penn Station. Good luck with Jim's shirts at t he cleaners - hope they don't do anything to them. That's a good idea about putting the money away for the tours I will have to do that I know one is 20.25 but what is the price of the other one??? Martha - You probably got sick from the taking the flu shot LOL LOL LOL LOL - I hate shots and refuse to take it. I know there is a lot of stuff going around and people are coughing and sneezing all over the place I have the sniffles too. Congrats on your new shirts = can't wait to see them. Sorry about Aubreys cold these poor kids get so much stuff at school hope she is feeling better. Hope Lee gets relief on wednesday. cruisetarp
2 WEEKS TO GO. I can't believe it is nearly here. Got most of my packing done over the weekend. I really had no choice - the stuff was all over the dining room and Jim would definately frown on eating Thanksgiving dinner off TV trays. lol Got all of my grocery shopping done so will begin cooking on Wednesday. Today I have to call for an appointment to get my hair cut next week as well as get my nails done next Wednesday. Just realized last night the Jim never made a reservation at the kennel for the dog so he has to do that today as well as make an appt. for an oil change and quick check-up on the car and we are set to go. It seems that the ship is now charging 3% to get money on your sea pass in the casino. Does anyone know if that includes getting money at the Guest relations desk. If so, I'll have to bring more cash that I planned since Jim is always taking money out from the casino. I'm so glad the tips are taken care of already and I don't have to worry about those. Martha - hope you had fun with the girls yesterday. How is Aubrey feeling? Peggy - is Nicholas over the big "Santa" shock yet and forgiven you. TJ finally went to see Santa yesterday and was so proud of himself. They went to Hershey Park for the weekend and Deb was having a fit that she paid so much for Breakfast with Santa and TJ was terrified of him but she said he (Santa) was all over the park on Saturday and TJ watched him from a distance, but yesterday ran right up on his lap. We might actually have a picture of him on Santa's lap without him crying this year. Time to run and get things done. Be back later.
peggyg
Hi Marylou & Martha Just a quick one today, remember when I said that Nick hurt his foot and we thought it was broken the Xray said it was fine WELL it was still hurting him and Lisa saw a friend of mine a radiologist that I worked for years ago (and my son dated his daughter) anyway I told Lisa have him look at the Xray turns out he has a subtle nondisplaced distal 5 metatarsal fracture - he called Nick Dr. and told him today and also yelled at the original Dr. who read the Xray - that Dr. called Nick's Dr. to say he missed it and it is fratured hmmm I am thinking that guy is in big trouble is anything more serious is wrong with Nick I am so mad - then no one will see us up here they are booked and can't see Nick till Dec 3rd - what's up with that LOL - so we are off to White Plains I will let you know how we make out. grr I am soooo mad. cruisetarp
Just changed cabins -- finally got the corner aft I have been trying for since we booked this cruise. The last 2 times it came up it was gone again by the time I got through to C & A to change it. I am so excited. We are now in 9256 with a huge balcony. (Lots of room for a party - hehe) By the way Peggy, I talked to Carol earlier, she is doing quite well. She is home from the rehap center and walking with a cane but still going to PT everyday and they are very happy with her progress. She said to say Hi to you.
