Hi Mary Lou- you mean the one posted on the thread? yeah, I watched it and posted; really made me want to do the ferry, but realistic there is no way Lee could have a full day like that. At least, he can nap in the afternoon while we are in Gatun Lake and be up and functioning for Cristobal Pier. If we like it that much, we've talked about doing the full transit eventually.

Have a good night. I am really tired and we are getting the grandkids for a sleepover before school starts. :biggrin:

Hi Martha - Happy holiday weekend - Any big plans other than having the grandkids sleepover. How many grandkids do you have and hold old are they.

Jim & I will celebrate our 42nd Anniversary on Sept. 3rd and have 2 kids - son Dave who lives in Ct. with wife Kathy and first 2 grandkids Paige (8) and Colin (6)

and Daughter Deb who lives here in Nazareth (the reason we moved here 4 years ago) with hubby Mike and youngest 2 Ashleigh (ALMOST 6) and TJ (Thomas James 3). The 2 here keep us hopping and right now are serving as "ChildChairs" for the Lehigh Valley Heart Walk next month which is really keeping us busy.

Hope you have fun with the grandkids and they don't wear you out too much. I know a few hours with TJ ages me tremendously. lol

I think I am going to follow my original plan and see how my breathing is affected by the heat and if possible book the ferry cruise on the ship. Jim says he doesn't care but I know he wants to go.

Time to get some things done - have a good weekend.

Good morning, Mary Lou-

We have 3 grandchildren; all girls!!

Our oldest son is Scott and his wife Monica, Alex (who will be 10 on Sept. 20), Ashley (3) and Aubrey (18 1/2 mos). Our youngest son is Mark and he is a confirmed bachelor! They both live here in Charlotte. Lee and I have been married 37 years.

I hope your breathing is really doing well and you can make the canal. I know you really really want to do the ferry!!

Have to run... I am a red cross volunteer nurse, also and think I am working in a shelter tomorrow. We had a lot of flooding from Fran. Have to get things done before the girls arrive!

Hi Martha - hope you are having a fun weekend with the grandkids. I just noticed we are now officially down to double digits for the Panama Canal Cruise. You now have 2 cruises coming up in less than 100 days.

Nothing special going on for the weekend unless I can convince DD to have a BBQ. Seems like we should be having one but I'm too tired to do all that work. lol

Hi Mary Lou- The grandkids are gone, but I'm off to work at the Red Cross shelter from 1-6. I'm a volunteer nurse and they need help covering. I promise I will post later!!

Did you see that RCI is doing away with PC cruises after April, 2009? They have taken the cruising PC and Cristobal Pier out and replaced it with all day in Colon, Panama. :ohmy: :sad2:

We are soooooo lucky!! :thumbup:

Wonder what is really going on with RCI; first, they do away with RT Hawaii cruises, now partial PC cruises. People are NOT happy!

Hi Martha - I have been following that thread and am amazed that they are changing the partial transits to a port stop. I'm sure a lot of people will be cancelling. I just hope they don't make any big changes to our itinerary once final payment is made in a couple of weeks. I don't blame the peope for being angry. I really think RC has over-extended itself with the Oasis and is cutting back to make up for it but if they anger their loyal customers too much it may blow up in their face. I really like RC but they are definately not the only cruise line out there.

Had a busy day of shopping but actually put a dent into some Christmas shopping. (A very small dent but a dent. ) Jim insisted on going with me. You should have seen the look on his face when they rang up the total for a coach bag for our daughter Deb and a small coach purse for Heather. It was amazing....I thought he was going to faint. lol He actually asked the cashier if she was kidding. I'll be Christmas shopping alone from now on.

Now I need to find somewhere to store all my purchases til Christmas. Hope you are having a good day.

Hi Mary Lou- glad you had a good day shopping! Poor Jim, I bet he was in shock! I have all the clothes shopping done for the grandkids and some toys. Need to get moving on the rest!

I agree about RCI. I read on one of the threads that more cuts are coming. I've already told our TA that after we make Diamond, we will be open to cruising other lines. RCI is getting too family oriented to the detriment of others! They have to be the biggest and have the most on their ships and that just doesn't appeal to us. It's a shame. I really liked them in the beginning.

Worried about the wedding we are supposed to go to this w/e in Murrells Inlet, SC. Our reservations are in Myrtle Beach and we were driving down Sat. am. Will have to really keep an eye out for Hannah.
