jakoury
Has anyone ever done the Atlantis shore excursion offered by Royal Carrib? If yes, do you get to use the ammenities and water slides, or is it just a tour of the hotel and aquarium?
RNSANE
I haven't been to Atlantis since a couple of weeks after 9-11. At that time, the Majesty of the Seas was only half full. They offered us $50/person/day if we would stay on for the weekend cruise and Atlantis, nearly empty, was offering $50/night for rooms. If I hadn't already been in Kissimmee at a nursing conference for five days, I would have done one or the other. In my recent cruises to Nassau, I haven't even left the ships, normally. Seems to me, though, passengers have paid extra to swim at Atlantis and use the poor facilities. I may be wrong, however...they might have gone over on their own and not done the RCI excursion. sailingrose
If your talking about the tour with the Harbor cruise, no you only get to view the aquarium. Not sure it they offer a different tour. You used to be able to rent a room across the street at Comfort Inn Suites and use Atlantis's water stuff but not sure they do it anymore. becktours
We sailed the Sovereign of the Seas last month and visited Atlantis on our own. The taxi driver did tell us that if you stay at the Comfort Suites across the street, you can use Atlantis' facilities! We didn't sign up for a tour, we just walked through it. There was a tour being conducted inside and they did give alot of information. Since we had all 3 kids with us, we just headed for the Aquarium. It was very nice. gogetter
Hello Of course,,,,uumm.......i haven't been to over Atlantis for years and still see no improvement from cruise reviews. Here's why: OVERPRICED ON DRINKS AND FOOD HIGH TABLE LIMITS ON CASINO GAMES RUDE AND I MEAN RUDE STAFF WHO TAKE FOREVERFOREVERFOREVER TO WAIT ON YOU Now for the life of me i cant understand what is wrong with people NOT going to Cable Beach????The hotel is the old Marriott..Wyndham or whatever it is now.... Heres why: CRUISE FRIENDLY..............VERY CRUISE FRIENDLY NICE BIG POOL. A DECENT WATER SLIDE WONDERFULWONDERFULWONDERFUL TIKI BAR LAGOON AND OFF TO THE LEFT THE BEACH Take the 10a bus from the main drag for a dollar, get a scenic view of Nassau...20 minutes or so and they drop you off across the street from the Marriott....wyhdhan or whatever i is now. Houses the Crystal palace casino. Anyways.......go to Cable Beach you will be better off.
cruiser66
I agree 100% with gogetter. I stayed in Nassau for a week at the Wydham Crystal Palace & Casino on Cable beach and it was awesome. Cable beach is a gorgoeus beach. Much better that the Atlantis beach. You can take the Jitney which is a bus for $1.00 to cable beach from the cruise terminal. We all wanted to spend the day at Atlantis and we had to pay $100 for a day room and the staff were the biggest bunch of witches I have ever dealt with. The best Pina Colada ever at the wydham on cable beach
DebbieandJerry
Have to agree with Cruiser66 and GoGetter. We've been to Nausau two different times. First time we didn't pay the fee to tour the aquarium. We walked around the hotel and "visited" it from the outside. Second time we paid the fee. If you have been to other aquariums, you might be disappointed. Hotel Atlantis does not want you using their facilities. Finding a public restroom is very difficult. Their snack stations and restuarants are extremely pricey. Even if you are gambling at their tables, they are not very customer oriented (i.e., drinks) Yes, the hotel is quite beautiful. In looking back, however, I think there's much more to do in Nausau than Hotel Atlantis.
