Our best experience was the whale watch that we went on in Juneau. The sheer number of whales that we saw was amazing. When we saw them bubble feeding, it was like we were on a National Geographic show.

Our best experience was the white water rafting down the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau. We liked it so much we did it both times we were in Juneau.

Second place would be the dog-sledding for me, but maybe the salmon fishing for my hubby.

It's hard to choose but if I can only pick one....Float Plane in Ketchikan. I loved the peaceful feeling of being up in the air. I also loved landing on a tiny island with the gorgeous scenery. One side was lovely green mountains, the other snow covered mountains, simply beautiful!

We also saw the bubble feeding with the whales - but our highlight was a 4 person fishing trip around the islands in Ketchikan. Once we had caught about a dozen or so fish and crabs, they took us to their private island and cleaned and cooked our fish - it was a meal fit for a king, inclusive of local blueberry cobbler made over the coals ..... not only that but the island was so neat - their ladies bathroom was constructed inside the trunk of a huge tree. We'll never forget that trip.

The photo safari in Juneau - but not sure which was better the eagle swooping down right next to the boat to pluck a fish from the water, getting close enough to the whales to get photos of the barnacles on their tails or the bear scooping the salmon out of the water - glaring at us and sauntering back off into the woods.
