deb1220
I like both but I prefer the sea days. It's fun to just "do nothing", participate in activities, etc. or a little of both!
sailingrose
I love sea days but in the Caribbean I love port days when everyone gets off the ship but me! Love to have the whole ship to myself.
KeithnRita
The same as above--a port day for most folks--a sea day for us!
Joanandjoe
I like to have at least one sea day every few days to chill out. Port days are more interesting, but there's a temptation to do too much. This is supposed to be vacation, after all. So I guess I prefer sea days, as long as there aren't too many of them. There was an unintentionally funny post on the subject of relaxation on the Alaska board of another cruise board. Someone listed several ports, then asked which was the right one to chill out in. The answer from an obviously Type A person: "no such port. In Alaska, there's so much to do that you've got to keep moving all the time." Is that a vacation or a marathon that the poster was describing?
zebra
Definitely sea days ........ just love the activities on board and the movement of the ship as we sail the high seas.

bigred
OK. First, our best moment in Alaska will be hard. Loved whale watching in Juneau, train into the mountains in Skagway, the orcas that shadowed our ship one day for miles, the baby seals just born and floating on the icebergs, the calving iceberg, etc. but my personal favorite was a private moment I had at 4 AM (still fairly light out in July). I was standing on our balcony, all alone, just me and Alaska, when down below I spotted a huge sea otter frolicing in the ocean. He stayed there for at least 20 minutes and it was such a magical moment. Second, we love sea days. After 10 cruises, we have really learned to appreciate and enjoy our ship and our balcony. That being said, our next cruise is in Hawaii which will be port intensive. But we've just gotta go! Bigred
rogue
Just like most most of us here, I love the sea days. It's just total relaxation. The port days are great, but in a different way. The sea days are what I cruise for.
cruisetarp
Definately partial to the sea days. By the time we get to our first port I am completely relaxed and unless I have never been there before I generally stay on the ship where it is nice and quiet.
