becktours
I don't mind paying for my excursions in advance. I guess it's just one less thing I have to worry about shelling money out for while on the cruise! I don't always go with the cruise lines' excursions anyway! I love Shore Trips. I had a fantastic excursion though them on St. Maarten, and know if anything goes wrong, they will refund my money too!
jacketwatch
Thats the first I have heard of that though we have prereserved before on Princess only. No wirries there. Can you cancel now and get a refund? I would hope so.
Sunbeam
Thats the first I have heard of that though we have prereserved before on Princess only. No wirries there. Can you cancel now and get a refund? I would hope so. We cancelled and got our full deposit back. We cancelled by principle. I would have not wanted to go to Europe without having excursions booked ahead of time, but to pay for them 7 months in advance that was a bit too much for me. DebbieandJerry
Carnival has also instituted this, which surprised me. We went online and booked our excursions, thinking that it would come on our "sail and sign" at the end of the cruise. We were surprised when the credit card statement came and the excursions were already on the statement. When I contacted Carnival, I asked them why they didn't have that language in their website when booking the excursions. I don't remember their reply. There is no difference in cost if you book in advance or if you wait and book the first day you sail. You do run the risk, however, of being bumped out of an excursions because it is full. In the future, we are going to ask first if the ticket is pre-paid, or not. If it is pre-paid, we will wait (or use an outside agency like ShoreTrips). ametrinel
They do refund the fee if you cancel far enough ahead - not sure how far, though.
