seauonboard
Ok - I'm not the insurance type of gal. Usually we are driving to port and we arrive a day early so I never really see a need for it. But for the girls trip in September I'm thinking maybe it's not a bad idea. Others in the group are considering it also. Wild crazy girls - who know what will happen . So - has anyone used Carnivals insurance? What does it include? Does anyone like an independent better? What should I be looking for? Carnival wants $59 a person ($39 for kids) for our 5 night cruise. Thanks in advance.....
JoeyandDavid
I have always recommended that people use a sorting service like http://www.insuremytrip.com

Joanandjoe
We, too, use insure my trip. Generally we end up with CSA insurance, brcause the policy will cover pre-existing medical conditions if the insurance is booked within one day after FINAL payment. Most trip inurance has the pre-exisitng condition waiver only if made within a short time (usually 10 days) after the INITIAL payment. In any event, compare the coverage of the Carnival policy with the coverage in the policies you find using Insure My Trip. Usually the coverage of private policies is more extensive. I might add, however, that $59 may be hard to beat.
seauonboard
How do you determine what medical limit to choose? I have other health insurance that is actually pretty good.
teacp
We always take the insurance. Don't forget not only for delays and cancellations. God forbid you had to be airlifted off the ship I heard the helicopter ride alone is like 30,000. We always get our insurance from Carnival.......Just peace of mind.............We are also automatically insured for luggage and trip delays on flights from American Express but I think because of our ages (64) you never know what can happen on board. seauonboard
I have decided to take the Carnival insurance. I'm going to go ahead and put the insurance on my sisters cabin also. $59 isn't bad - $39 for my niece. I have until final payment to add it - just have to remember

elfed
We took Carnival Insurance on our last trip and had reason to put in a claim . My wife had heart problems and spent 4 hours in the ship's sick bay. Within one week of arriving home we received claim forms from Carnival's Insurance company. We sent in our claim over 3 weeks ago and have not yet been compensated. We were told it will take up to 8 weeks to process. Regards, James.
