Looking for suggestions in San Juan

We will be in San Juan on a Tuesday docking at 5:00 p.m. unitl midnight. I am looking for suggestions on what to do and see during this time period.

We will be staying in San Juan for a few days and your post made me wonder what we would do if we only had a few hours to visit.. I think I would opt for a segway tour of San Juan...It is on our itinerary for one of the days we are there... check it out

Thanks for the suggestion. I am not sure how much daylight we would have to do this with getting into port a 5 p. m. I was hoping to try and get to one of the forts that was close by and than unsure what to do after that.

Will look at your link to see what hours they operate.

I checked on the segway tours and they stop at 5:00 so that will not be an option for us.

But, thanks for the suggestion, I think it would be quite funny to see the DH and myself (since I sometimes have trouble with a bike) try to do this.

The shops in Old San Juan, where the ship docs, will still be open. You can easily walk the area from the piers, or their is a free trolley car that stops across from the piers and you can hop on and off. It goes as far as El Morro Castle and returns through Old San Juan. And, of course, the ship will have plenty of excursions available even when you arrive at 5pm, as I did in February. It was still light till 7pm.

When we were in San Juan, we took a cab tour of Old san Juan and then had him drop us off at the top of the shopping area (that way we were walking downhill to the ship). Stores were open and when we got to the bottom we searched out Senor Frogs and had a "refreshment" before heading back to the ship. We will be in San Juan again this August and plan the same.

We used Legends of Puerto Rico. Debbie Molina gave us a wonderful tour of the town. We were there late in the day also. The website is http://www.legendsofpr.com.
