DebbieandJerry
You guys are all so positive, so upbeat. No wonder you have such a great time on your cruises! Our plan is to fly in to San Diego. The cruise leaves on a Sunday. If we can fly out late Friday night, that is our preference. If not, we'll try for the first flight Saturday morning. Jerry and I last visited San Diego in 2004 for a wedding. There is still much of Balboa Park that we haven't explored. We love the ocean (hence why we cruise so much). So just walking along the beaches of San Diego will be a pleasurable experience for us. It helps that we took NCL from Hawaii in 2005. This way, we can pretty much plan our own excursions and not have to rely on the cruiseline to "entertain" us. Of course, we would love to book our air, hotel and car rentals right now. Unfortunately, air isn't "accepting" reservations at this time for March 2009. So, the four of us just continue to daydream about this vacation. We met "our cruising companions" on their first cruise (our second) back in 1993 and we have been taking vacations together ever since. Again, thanks for all of the positive feedback. KeithnRita
The Mercury was our first X cruise, and that was in 1999. We'd heard from various sources on how great X's food was. The food far exceded our expectations, especially their famous waffles! That cruise sold us on Celebrity.
Shari2
Congratulations on the booking, Debbie and Jerry! You will love that cruise! I cruised out of San Diego on the "Infinity" to Hawaii on Dec. 5th, 2004. That was the same cruise that Ed and Roe were on. Loved it! I also had been to Hawaii before. We flew in to Honolulu back in 1993 and cruised on the old " Constitution" of American Hawaii cruises. We loved that cruise, too. Not so much the ship, though, but we had a lot more time in Hawaii that time. We stayed on Oahu before and after the cruise. Either way, Hawaii is wonderful! Love San Diego, too! I have a review of that cruise in the review section. Somethng happened to the print when it was entered into the computer. Don't know what happened, but it's still readable. I'm not the best writer, but, you may enjoy reading it.
