Cruise Question of the Day

Todays question:

While on board....Do you buy the specialty Coffees/Teas?

No, we don't. Carnival has recently "upgraded" their coffee and it is quite tasty. Royal Caribbean served Seattle's Finest on that cruise, so why pay for the fancy stuff. For the most part, cruise line coffee sucks. Can't see paying for the specialty stuff.

but debbie you had to pay for seattles best didnt you?

No, we never paid for Seattles Best on that cruise. Do you think it was because it was to the Pacific Northwest, leaving from Seattle?

They had coffee stations set up all over that ship. The stations had all the fixings, including the syrups. Couldn't see paying for a "fancy" latte or foamed whatever when I could have a tasty treat anytime.

I'm hoping that Celebrity will "upgrade" their brew on this San Diego to Hawaii cruise. The last time we were in Hawaii, the biggest expense was coffee in terms of "gifts to bring back". I must have stopped at every coffee place on every island, sampling and buying.

Joey, I love your question of the day and the answers that others provide. Is there a set up reason as to why the last question/answer is at the end and not the beginning?

Our last two cruises didn't have any formal nights, and our next one won't have any either. That's great with me: I think formal nights are a pain. Three cruises ago, on the Noordam, we had three formal nights out of 11 nights.

I'd rather not have to drag a suit onto a ship, and I'm certainly not going to get a tux: it's been more than 30 years since the last time I wore one (and that time was the only time since our wedding 40 years ago). Once I have the suit, I don't really care how many formal nights there are.

We don't mind dressing up occasionally in this casual world. Seven day cruises usually have two and ten day cruise have three formal evenings. That seems about right. We agree it a pain when it comes to packing, however it's worth it to see Rita in her gowns!

This year on our Siesta trip we need to pack a formal suitcase, as on our way home we are stopping in Nashville for a Memorial weekend ballroom dance. We have one formal night and one semiformal and the final day tea dance is casual--except for no shorts or T's.
