JoeyandDavid
it's not a cruise to us if we don't get to play roulette while we wear a tux... we enjoy the dressing thing.. and once every five nights are a good mix i think.. cruisetarp
We really enjoy the formal nights. We live a very casual life outside of cruising and never get to dress up. Jim also loves the "James Bond" feel of the casino when he is in his tux.
Joanandjoe
So I take it your not a big fan of formal nights huh Joe ... I do agree they can be a pain.. but they can be so much fun as well.... thanks for the response.. how does Joan feel about formal nights? Until casual business wear came in about 5 years ago, I spent 35 years wearing a suit to work; so it's hard for me to associate dressing up with fun. Joan probably likes formal night more than I do; but basically, she wears the same type of garment - a caftan - whether it's formal night or informal night. She also loves to wear jewelry, but never brings the good stuff with her on a cruise. Too much risk of either loss, or of having customs think she bought it on the cruise. No Joe...I understand completely... if I wore suits more often I probably would feel very similar...
sailingrose
I love dressing up! There is nothing more elegant then a formally dressed couple.
DebbieandJerry
Love the preparations for formal nights. Love taking the casual pictures around the ship "all decked out". Love to admire how wonderful everyone looks. ... Hate how tight everything feels by the end of the evening.
hazelson
I love it - DH puts up with it. 2 out of 7 nights is just right but with some airlines wanting us to pay extra for each suitcase that might change.
JoeyandDavid
Todays Question: Do you actually swim, wade in, or otherwise utilize the water from the pool on board ship?...
deb1220
My DH and DS are non-swimmers so they don't ever go near the water. Even though I do swim I have never gone in a pool on a ship (I don't want to make anyone sick ).
Joanandjoe
Sure, if the weather is warm enough or the pool area is covered, and if the water isn't sloshing around much. A dip in a pool is always welcome. We're particularly big on hot tubs. On our trips where the cabin didn't have a bath tub (i.e., on Celebrity, Avalon, and Windsar), we were in the hot tub a lot. (The Aavaon Poetry doen't have a pool, but it does have an indoor hot tub.)
