kmills
I do use the pool. My DH does not but we both do us the hot tubs.
sailingrose
If it's hot or we stay on the ship in port definately. I'm more of a hot tub person. Howie pretty much skips the ppol and opts for a nap.

rogue
We only rarely use the pool. I will use the hot tub once in a while.
DebbieandJerry
I adore sun bathing and swimming, but don't partake in either while on a cruise ship. Don't want to ruin my vacation with any type of sun burn. Don't want to ruin my skin. I like to watch the pool activities and get a kick out of those playing the pool games. We've only been on two cruise ships that have a big enough sitting area around the pool where you can keep your feet wet without having to actually take that plunge in to the salt water. All of the public hot tubs have either been crowded or closed, so we have never had that opportunity. I had no idea that some of the ships had hot tubs in their cabin rooms. Hmmmm. I'm not sure my DH would even be able to tell you if there were pools, hot tubs, spas and/or gyms on the ships as he does not indulge. On sea days, he is either in the casino or in the room, napping. Once we get to an island, however, that is a different story. Most of the time you will find us in some type of water/ocean sport: snorkeling, whale watching, catamaran ride, etc.
Joanandjoe
I had no idea that some of the ships had hot tubs in their cabin rooms. Hmmmm. I didn't mean to imply that there were full hot tubs in staterooms. I've heard that they exist in some ultra top of the line penthouse suites, but I've never seen one. I have seen, and occasionally had, Jacuzzi bathtubs, which are nice, but not quite the same as a full hot tub. The Avalon Poetry had a small indoor public whirlpool, big enough for two, in a small room next to the beauty parlor. The sun deck on a European river cruising ship is much too narrow for a pool. DebbieandJerry
Whew, thanks for clarifing. Here I thought I was missing out on something exciting and exotic. But I am looking forward to the spa on the Celebrity Mercury. If memory serves me, we can 'reserve' the hot tub. Now that, I would enjoy. We were on one ship that had a standard bathtub in addition to the shower. I'm not much of a bubble bath person and I don't recall if we actually used it. (I'm sure if we did I would remember.)
