Cruise Question of the Day

We do thoroughly read the daily activities program and carry it with us. This last time we brought different color highlighters to highlight different activities for each of us and/or for all 3 of us.

I thoroughly read it when I get it, but seldom carry it with me the next day. If it's a sea day, there usually aren't too many things we plan to do, and when we do have plans, we generally remember them. If we happen to miss something, we were probably doing something that was just as enjoyable.

OK! I'll try asking a question today and give Joey a break.

How do you book your cruises? Do you use a TA, bookon-line, or direct with the cruise companies?

Depends on the cruiseline. I book RCI on the phone but I use a TA for Princess since they can sometimes be hard to deal with.

Todays Question:

Today we have a two part question:

Do you thoroughly read the daily activities program delivered to your room each night? Do you carry it with you the next day?

Yes, I always read the next day's activities before I turn in for the night. Usually while enjoying a glass of wine on my balcony. I try to remember to carry it but sometimes forget.

Yes, we all read it the night before and again in the morning. Totally toss the advertisements and inserted pages. Especially at sea days, most of our breakfast conversation is centered on what we would like to do. I say "would like to do" because as the day progresses, we tend to forget.

We do, however, try to remember when it's afternoon tea. It's not like we haven't eaten throughout the day and it's not like we haven't had sweets. But, there's something about afternoon tea that is so enticing. Maybe it's the one time where we are forced to behave! Yes, we have been reminded that afternoon tea is traditionally a solemn event that needs to be taken more seriously.

Don't usually carry the paper with us because there are always others posted throughout the ship.

When we are at port, however, I do take the paper because it has important telephone numbers and return to ship times on it. While we have never had to use the important telephone numbers, it is wise to have them with you when you are not taking a ship sponsored excursion.

Yes, we read it, and we carry it with us when we go off the ship. The daily newsletter always has the name and phone number of the port agent, so we feel more secure having that information in case we need it. We actually did need the info once, in Martha's Vinyard, when a crown came off one of my teeth. The port agent found us an emergency dentist. (Better service than one would have expected from the Regal Empress back when it was part of Regal Cruises.)
