Joey, back in 2005 when we were planning to spend a month in Europe, we thought about doing that and I used this website to do some research. Instead of spending a month in Paris and taking the train to London, we decided to spend 10 days each in Paris, Vienna and London and stayed in hotels.

Carmen in after thought do you feel you made the right decision?

Yes, but if we had decided to stay in Paris, we would have opted for the apartment. For that length of time, it would have felt more like home than living in a hotel room for a month.

Joey,

This link may help; http://www.vrbo.com/

We have given it serious thought and plan to do it in the not too distant future. We did the driving thing in Europe and while we enjoyed it, it was a lot of work. I like the idea of day tripping from on central location. Kind of like unpacking only once on a cruise ship.

We do it all the time in South Africa - love it!! We usually rent a house by the week, in fact this October we'll be doing it twice during our 6 week vacation. It beats living in a hotel room, in fact for us there's nothing worse than living in a hotel. Hotels are great for a night or a weekend at the most.... after that house/apartment rentals are WAY better. Go for it Joey..... we were thinking of doing that in Tuscany - there are plenty of rentals available.
