We're back from our second Regent cruise, and it was even better than the first (other than the entertainment--but what can compare with a jazz cruise?). Regent is better than the mass market lines by a country mile; but it also is more expensive by a country mile. I'm not sure we can afford another Regent cruise.

Needless to say, and in response to comments on the cruise question of the day, service is not a problem on this line: it ranged from marvelous to exceptional.

That's what you get when you have 450 crew for 700 PAX, and none of the crew depends on tips for their livelihood. That's also why Regent and the other "ultra luxe" lines are so expensive.

If you want pasta or an omelet at the buffet, you don't stand in line. They take your table # and bring it to you. Along with the soda, wine, beer, or booze that's included in the fare.
