55ChevyLady
Andrea did you buy air yet? who else has air left to buy?.. anyone heard from Ray? no I JUST now was lookin at SW for comparionsions sake and I can't book past Oct. 31st...but you do get 1st and second bags free...I pluged in some dates for Oct. just to get an idea for fares, I know that doesn't mean anything, but fares for dates about 2 weeks apart were around $600.00. what do you all think? free bags, would have to get a taxi from Ft. lauderdale, if the fares are about the same not having to pay for the bags would save me ALOT of money......plus getting to carry an extra bag would save me ALOT in drycleaning charges... I need to start getting ready for THE WEDDING right now but I can be back later... if everybody would think this over I would appreciate it! JoeyandDavid
what do you all think? that is a tough one... for one thing you will need to build in more travel time.. and I would think it would also depend on the cost of the "super shuttle or taxi" transportation from FLL to the hotel in Miami AND then from the port (after the cruise) BACK to FLL.. I just wonder if the cost and time invested isn't eaten up by the additional transportation costs.. I it may boil down to the number of bags you plan to check. Like i started my statement that is a tough one.. Lets see what the others have to say..

JohnG
I don't own a laptop or a cell phone. Karen has a cell. Don't need them since I work from my home office. However, on the ship I buy a package of minutes (250 is usually the largest the offer) because I need to check my email daily. Even though I have an associate with access to my electronic files in my absence, many times I can answer a question etc for the client by email. If it can wait till I get back, I handle it then. If they want to book right now, a refer it to my associate, and have to split the commission. My business is built on establishing ongoing relationships with my customers, which is why I get a lot of repeat business. So I have to be reachable. We also use it to check in with our daughter, exchanging brief emails daily. We, too, will likely book Southwest, which is significantly less than flying into Miami, and the shuttle to Miami is only about $18 per person. We'll probably book the Celebrity transfer back to FLL at disembarkation. Also two free bags per person. (That is an $80 savings over American). But I, too, have been monitoring it to see when they open up past Oct 31. I don't monitor, normally, very often. When I have booked through Orbitz in the past they have been good about sending me emails when there are changes. So have Continental and Delta. cruisetarp
Quick Question... how many of the men on this cruise know how to tie a bow tie... Jim uses the pre-made ones. He has no luck doing it himself. If you learn how maybe you can give lessons to any others that may want to know.
