Does anyone just hire a cab in a port????

We have done that on several occasions. I have always got good deals and have never been disappointed. Usually they put on a better tour than the ship tours. Besides I love to haggle the price!

Glad I'm not alone Steve. I usually figure out where I want to go and then make my own tour with the taxi driver.

Judson...I don't think I will ever tire of the Carribean but we have talked about the European river cruise. Have to wait till we retire because when we go to Europe it will be for at least a month!

Also want to go to Egypt someday. Think it would be facinating and hot!!

I agree. It will have to wait. Cindy doesn't get enough time off at this point.

I wouldn't go until we had 2 weeks off. That's exactly what I had so I grabbed it. No regrets, only wonderful memories!

Judson, a river cruise is in our intentions for 2010. Want to do the Seine/Rhone area of France in the burgundy and red wine area. We have now done Tahiti, Hawaii, Alaska twice, Canada/New England twice, the Mediterranean twice, and about 40 Caribbean trips.

And we have hired a taxi once, in Antigua, to tour the island and go to a beach. He gave us a nice narrated tour, an waited at the beach till we were ready to to return.

Rose, I agree. We went to Europe for two weeks and loved every minute of it. We did not do a cruise it was all land. That's why I want more time for the next trip. There is so much to see and do.
