JoeyandDavid
I think it's about 120 miles and 3 hours is right because you drive through many Keys, each of which has like 35 - 45 MPH speed limits, traffic lights etc - it's not like driving all the way on a highway. Enjoy the trip.... that's part of the interest in that part of the world. ty
cruisetarp
Jackie - every trip to Key West must include a stop at Keno sandals. Is that the one you were referring to?

cruisetarp
Yes Joey - Keno has a small factory store in Key West. Great leather sandals although the variety is somewhat limited - depending on what they are working on at the time.
zebra
Yes MaryLou - that's it! Keno!! I bought three pairs - the same sandal, three different colors of leather.
cruisetarp
I'm sorry I only bought one pair but I have worn them for 3 summers now. It's about time to plan another trip there so I can restock - and I won't buy just 1 pair.
lashl
Jackie is right about the trip to KW. Because of traffice it takes about 3 hours. Use to drive down there once a month from Miami. The drive is beautiful.

zebra
Joey, how long will you go down to Key West for? There's a lot to experience, see and do - I would stay a minimum of two nights if I were you...... I'd love to spend a week or two on the Keys, snorkeling, fishing and eating conch fritters!! Actually if everything works out as I hope ..I was planning to come into MIA/FLL 3 to 4 days before the cruise jump off the plane (when sailing out of the flordia ports..we always arrive in early afternoon)...rent a car.. drive straight to KW spend the night or two and then drive to the hotel drop off david and jr.. drive back to the airport to return the car and then get a shuttle back to the hotel.. at least thats the early game plan.. while in key west I thought we would rent the faboulous pink bikes (everything used to be pink the cabs ..the rental bikes..etc.. has that changed?) and go exploring like i did when i used to visit my boss during december when he live down there ...
