PATJUD
now now now.... Celebrity isnt that bad.... It's not that Celebrity is "bad." Having never sailed on one of the Celebrity ships and after constantly seeing their TV ads and reading that Celebrity was a cut above Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Princess - I didn't find the "hype" to be true. It might have been the "infinity." It's not a new ship but it was a nice ship. I went with expectations based on what I had seen and read - My expectations were higher than what I found. I won't be sailing on the "Constallation" with the same expectations that I had about "Infinity." Don't get me wrong. I'm excited about our November cruise - It's to the places that I want to go and it's a two week cruise. I've never been to some of the places that we are going and I've never been on a two week cruise. And all of you are new people to us so look at all the great things we've got going for us on this cruise - YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! To bad that it's 413 days, 5 hours, 22 minutes, and 40 seconds away at this moment - LOL!!!! Judson Oh yeah - I tried to call John this AM but his message states that it will be tonight before he's back so I'll call again in the morning - Tuesday. Judson, As they say different strokes.. David and I found Celebrity to BE a cut above..of Carnival and Princess.. go figure.. I guess it boils down to individual tastes..I must agree with you though on expectations..they never seem to match what we have in our thoughts... sailingrose
I too thought like Judson..........We thought they would carry your tray, cold towels at the pier, etc. We saw none of that........thought the service would have been better in the extras area but we didn't see it. I didn't dislike Celebrity just thought it wasn't like I thought it would be. We loved the cabin attendant & the dining staff. We just didn't see any more service then we got on RCI or Princess. Could be the ship and it really didn't bother me and we still had lots of fun. I'm looking forward to getting on board and meeting everyone and getting a 13 day cruise! Can't wait to see how I like it!

The carrying of trays...(or at least an offer to carry) happens for us almost every cruise
zebra
now now now.... Celebrity isnt that bad.... Sorry Joey I know you are a die-hard Celebrity fan, but I stand by everything I have said, but please - this is only my opinion and we fully appreciate that there are "different strokes for different folks".... thank heavens. I will say this, as I have been reflecting about different cruise lines. Cruises and cruising is extremely subjective. Very often people have cruised only on an "older" ship of a certain cruise line and then feel that this is the total cruising experience with this particular line, without try a newer ship. This can be a big mistake. Not that older ships are by any means inferior, it's just hard to compare to a more modern ship experience. Case in point. We cruised Legend of the Seas a few years ago and really enjoyed the ship, but of course we did have an aft cabin/huge verandah and it was a transatlantic and the crew always seems far more attentive on cruises with many sea days. Having said that we went back to cruising with Princess which we still preferred. We then took this Mariner of the Seas cruise on a whim, booking 4 days before sailing and had no great expectations... after all we had already "experienced" RCI, hadn't we. Well what a mistake - this ship was gorgeous, the Captain & crew were unbelievable, the food was excellent - no comparison to our previous RCI experience whatsoever. Tony & I have chatted about this - and in our personal experience.... we have always had a better ALL ROUND cruise experience on the newer ships. This cruise on the Connie is going to be very special to us, because most of our cruises we have done on our own - other than Europe on the Millie, and that gave us a taste of how awesome a cruise can be with cruise buddies..... all our memories of that cruise are pretty much the Crazies and the things we did together, we hardly remember much about the ship. So we can't wait to have this awesome get together...........

PATJUD
OK CRUISECRAZIES, I just talked with John and have dealt with the upgrade to Concierge and all in all, it's about a $500.00 increase over the original booking. Oh well - What's $500.00 - LOL!!!! That's on about $40.00 a day - 4 Grey Goose Martinis less per day. So that's done. He had sent me an email last week as a follow-up to the one that I sent to him but somehow, it got lost in the AOL "NEVER NEVER LAND" otherwise known as "spam." Anyway - all booked into 8148 now up there with "RAT," "JOEY," and "CRUISETARP." Judson
cruisetarp
Judson - So glad you got everything straightened out. I'll change the deck plan I made to reflect your change.
PATJUD
I just received the paperwork from John and the price that I got was the price given for the Concierge Category on the day that I first booked for this cruise back in May. So my question has been answered officially in writing. I didn't have to pay today's price when upgrading. Judson
