Yeah - If I lived in Tampa - That's most likely what I would do as well. Tampa is about 7 hours south of us here in Columbus, Georgia .

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!!! - The drive added to our trip from you south to Miami is a real killer. :blink:

I hear you Judson - we have driven (twice) to Atlanta and back home again in the same day!!! 8 hours one way! But then there again we are real travelers so I guess we can handle it.

Our flight on Wednesday to South Africa is a real doozie - we leave Tampa at 7 am Wednesday and arrive in Johannesburg SA at 3:30 pm on THURSDAY!! That's travel for you.......

It will soon be time to purchase air. We need to talk about that. What are your thoughts on this? Do you plan to buy it as soon as it's available or do you plan to wait to see if it goes down as the cruise gets closer?

we traditionally would buy air as soon as availible to ensure best flights.. this time we will wait.....maybe until final payment is due...

I guess if you are beginning to look for flights we should discuss where we will be pre-cruise. I believe both Miami & Ft. Lauderdale were being considered.

We are driving to Florida so flights are not an issue with us.

MaryLou - our only consideration with regard to the hotel is that we can leave the car there for the duration......

MaryLou, still waiting to see how you like the Best Western. The location is great for Miami! We will probably fly into Ft Lauderdale but either one is fine with us.

Steve - we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Miami across from the Bayside Market. I'll be happy to report back but I do know that you cannot leave your car there for the length of the cruise, one thing Jackie is really looking for in a hotel.

I surely do like the idea of this Holiday Inn, Port of Miami, 340 Biscayne Blvd. I'm going to be looking for convience in getting to the port. It's minutes from the Miami International Airport and opposite to the Port of Miami. I like this place even if it costs a bit more to fly into Miami.
