PATJUD
Judson - I'll let you know all about it after I get back in December. We will be there 2 nights pre-cruise. Great - Thanks Mary Lou. It really looks pefect as far as convenience goes. Plus if we're going to be there a couple days, there seems to be plenty near by to do while waiting for embarcation day. What kind of rate did you get? I tried to check for November of next year but it can't be done at this time.
cruisetarp
Judson - for the time in December when we will be there the current going rate is $185 per night. We got it a bit cheaper than that by going thru priceline but if we all want to stay in the same hotel pre-cruise Priceline will not be an option for us. Early in the planning stage I believe Joey had some discussions about a group rate but I'll have to leave that up to him to report on. JohnG
Regarding number of Celebrity cruises, the Connie will be our 6th. Looking forward to the increased perks for Captain's Club Select Level on this next one.

JoeyandDavid
hi guys this particular holiday inn does NOT have facilities to park cruise term... that is one of the reasons I didn't pursue the contract with that location... cruisetarp
You are right Joey. I thought you had stopped looking into a group rate when several of the others expressed an interest in staying in Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise.

No - I don't think we're actually focusing in on any place - just exploring thoughts. It would be very nice to find a place that took care of cars that were driven down, less expensive when it comes to purchasing flights when the time comes to do that, as well as location convenience concerning the port as well as some entertainment for those that go a couple days pre-cruise. I have no idea what transportation or transportation expenses are involved in getting from Ft Lauderdale to the port of Miami. So - not focusing - just exploring. My suggestion would be to once again utilize a group shuttle that will take the entire group (that drove) from the ship back to where the cars are parked.. cruisetarp
Just doing some prelimary looking for a bus service should we decide to stay in Ft. Lauderdale. SAS transport will take us from Ft. Lauderdale to the ship and back for $15 Per Person EACH WAY. They have all different sizes of buses and can add a luggage trailer to the bus if necessary. I guestioned them for between 10 and 24 people and they can accommodate both size groups. The price will remain the same regardless of how many people we have. I have written to 2 other limo/bus services but have not heard from them yet. I'll keep you informed.
