BulldogCruiser
LOL!! I am talking about The Martini Bar on board the ship. I'm assuming that the "Constallation" has one since the "Infinity" did. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM - Grey Goose Martinis - I'll take a Pomegranate Martini right now even though it's only 11:00 AM in Columbus and then I could nap - ha, ha, ha. POMEGRANATE MARTINI 2 oz citrus vodka 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice 1/4 oz fresh pomegranate juice 1 oz simple syrup oh i know the martini bar....trust me ... still with that being said... David would still like a brew tasting! normally when we go to a brew pub he orders the sampler and they bring him over like 8... 5/6oz glasses of their different beers.. same principal as the martini bar
BulldogCruiser
Sorry I hit the wrong button. The Martini Bar on the Summit and Mercury were wonderful. Met the same people almost every night. Am looking forward trying the one on the Solstice.
lashl
Personally I hate noisy restaurants. All I can hear is the background noise but if that's the choice that's fine. A private room, if available is great because it would be easier to mingle. As far as a bar crawl on the cruise goes I guess Lynda and I will go but we will only drink socially and one drink at a time, at least at the start! Sounds like a good idea and should be fun! cruisetarp
Now that we are within the 1 year mark who has been to any of these ports before and do you have any suggestions on what to see and do? We have only been to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Aruba before. The rest are all new ports for us and we are looking forward to seeing them but sure don't want to miss anything. I have been to the same ports as you, will be in St Martin in two weeks. I don't know anything about the other ports. Better study my Fodder's Caribbean. sailingrose
I've been to all the ports before but only to St. Lucia, St. Johns and Barbados once. We're going to St. Lucia & St. John's in December so I'll check out some more of it as I really don't remember too much about the Ports themselves. Barbados we hired a taxi, went to the caves and the beach. Nice island with friendly people.
lashl
We have been to St Thomas, St Maarten, Antigua, and St. Lucia. The French side of St Maarten is cool. St Lucia has great scenary and beaches. St Thomas has Magan's Bay, a beautiful beach. They are all great in there own way.
PATJUD
We've been to St Thomas, St Maarten, and Aruba before. We have not been to Antiqua, St Lucka, Barbados, or Curacao. I haven't started to look yet. I do like to see what is offered from the ship. How do you guys feel about booking trips from the ship? Or do you like to take off on your own and make your own arrangements. I usually feel safer with the ships arrangements because they can keep up with where you are better and it's not up to me to be sure we get back to the ship on time. We don't plan "sit on the beach" days. I like to see places on the various islands. Yeah - I know - the biggest complaint is that ships arrangements cost more. cruisetarp
Judson - we do both ship and private excursions depending on where we are and how long we are in port. We tend to stick with ship excursions if we have a short day and returning to the ship on time could be an issue. If we take private tours we research very thoroughly before booking with a stranger and so far have had no issues.
