No problem at all Joey - Stopping in Virginia - South Carolina and Daytona beach on the way down. Now working on getting us home. Wanted to make the reservations early since we will be heading south just about the time the folks who winter in Florida head out. Also we will be returning on Thanksgiving week and that is usually a heavy south to north traffic time.

i would think on returning... you and jim should be able to get to Jacksonville if not the GA boarder day 1..depending on how many miles a day you want to take on..

We have to decide how we are getting to the ship first. If we can get right off the ship, get in the car and head north we will have no problem getting into Georgia (we did that last December.) If we take the shuttle from the hotel and leave the car there that will add extra time before we can actually get on the road. Right now handicapped parking in Miami is free so if it stays that way we are leaning towards just taking our car and parking at the port. Such decisions!!!

that would be a no brainer for me

Definately a no brainer if the parking is free. They just keep emphasizing "for now it is free, subject to change."

Howard - glad you got your reservations made. Will you be staying 1 night or 2 nights pre-cruise?

MaryLou - just a suggestion. I see you have booked in Daytona Beach. Daytona has become very "run down"...... have you ever stayed in St. Augustine? With it's history and that wonderful walk in the center of old town, it's a wonderful stop. As I say just a suggestion.

Thanks Jackie - I will look into St. Augustine. Last time we stayed in Jacksonville and that was awful so I just picked somewhere south of there. I'll check into it further. The Va. & South Carolina stops we have used before and they were fine.

We'll just be there Sunday night. It was tough enough making the arrangements for the 13 day cruise, so adding much more would be impossible.
