Congrats on your booking Joey. Well a 5 hour LONG flight is subjective.... 18 hours non-stop to SA is a long flight.. 5 hours for us is OK. I know this reply is after the fact but what I would say to you is that David doesn't get off work all that often, so go with the 1st class for sure. Also if you had chosen the other option for another trip it would also have incurred other costs, hotels, taxi's etc . Boy if ever a 1st class ticket is worthwhile it's that long trip to SA, (or to Australia/New Zealand) but we would have to have 150,000 points each for that!! Even with all the flying we do, we still haven't racked up those kind of points EACH!!
