Rose - my biggest concern was not in getting to Florida but joining all the Snowbirds heading back up north for Thanksgiving after the cruise. So I made sure I had all my reservations made well in advance.

wow MoM you are as smart as you play on TV!

Only because my Mom did it for years. Down to Florida in September - home for Thanksgiving - back the day after Christmas and back home the day before Easter. Even though she flew in later years I still remember her planning out her trips just about as soon as she got home.

Non stop J and D. However depending on air prices we may fly into Fort Lauderdale and bus down to Miami on the day before the cruise. We'll wait a wee bit longer before we make a flight booking.

Regards,

James.

fingers are crossed you guys get the flights you want...

Joey - taking it nice and slow this trip. Only 5 hours a day except for day 1 when we will do 6 hours.

We are stopping in Virginia, So Carolina, North Florida and should be in Miami early Saturday afternoon. Could actually be in Miami earlier in the day but know the rooms won't be ready so we won't rush it.

thats very nice....If i can ask... what tools do you use when planning road trips?

The trip to Florida is very easy to plan. 90% of the trip is on Interstate 95 which has a website that lists every exit and what is nearby such as restaurants, motels and most importantly Outlet Malls lol. We look for motels with easy on/off access to 95 because after driving for 5 or 6 hours we don't want to have to drive another half hour once off the highway to stop overnight. Most exits have all the things we need and we are usually back on the road between 5 & 6 AM. There is also a site which lists the mileage between cities and then I just map it all out on Mapquest although we generally just use our GPS
