sailingrose
I'm sure all the lines will catch up to each other sooner or later. No one is immune. I just wish they would include it in the price.........when I turned my open booking into our Sovereign trip they made me pay the fuel surcharge even though this open booking was done pre-fuel surcharge. I wasn't too happy about finding out that I owed $18 2 days before we left. Good thing I check out bookings often.

cruisetarp
You are so right Jackie. We have a choice - pay the extra charges or stay home. I'm glad we are locked in for our Connie cruise.

PATJUD
I asked a Travel Agent friend of mine from another cruise board why she thought the cruise lines didn't include these fuel surcharges in with the cost of the cruise instead of this thing of separate charges and this is the response that I got from her: "If they put it as an increase on the cruise fare it would become commissionable and they don't want to pay us anything on it." Jeeeeeeeeesh - With the surcharges, air increases, payment to check in curbside at airport, charges for baggage and anything else they can think of - traveling is going to go out of sight. We're going to have to fix our homes as vacation places. Thank goodness Louise and I live in the South and I have a pool. That helps if vacations have to be limited at some point. lashl
We join the "Glad we booked early" crowd. That's a big increase. I can see us droping back to one cruise a year. Probably longer cruises but the cost of getting to either coast from here is getting out of hand. Rose..Write a "I'm mad and I'm not going to take it letter" to the cruise line. I did that a few cruises ago and got a free bottle of wine on the next cruise! That should be close to $18!
JoeyandDavid
I am hoping that this "fuel crisis" ends when we get rid of the oil men in the WH jmo
