PATJUD
Thanks everyone for the good wishes at the beach - however - we're on St Simons island off the Georgia coast and would you believe that we're rained in for the weekend. So - instead of tanning, I'm getting wet. O well - St Simonds Island is a historical area and you can always visit historical sites in the rain - LOL!!! There's a old British fortress here where the Spanish were defeated. A big battle of the Revolutionary War was fought here. There's a church here where John and Charles Wesley started the Methodist Church back in the early 1700s. Doesn't that just sound wonderful - LOL!!! It doesn't take the place of a sunny beach. That sounds like a interesting place.. a rainy day at the beach is better than anything inland!!

lashl
Spent some time at Glynco Naval Air Station in the 60's. St Simon was the place to go. Beaufiful island. Do they still have the paper mill plant in the area? No the greatest smell! Enjoy your stay rain or shine!
PATJUD
OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! No rain today on St Simons Island. The sun has been out all day. I ran into town quickly this morning to pick up a few things - one was a TShirt that reads - "I'M ON ISLAND TIME.' LOL!!! Then I made a dash for the beach with my beach chair, umbrella, book, CD player and CDs and had a marvelous day at the beach - yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! It was packed - everyone wanted to be at the beach after all the rain. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
