DebbieandJerry
We have flown in to both Miami and Ft Lauderdale. When our ship left from Miami, but we were in Ft Lauderdale, we bought the ship's airport to hotel transfer, etc. Was well worth the $$. Tucson to Ft. Lauderdale is significantly cheaper than Tucson to Miami (even factoring in the extra car trip from one city to the next). So, it is worth looking in to. In Miami, we absolutely LOVE Bayside. So, we stay at the Hotel Intercontinental which is not to far from Bayside. The first time we cruised the Caribbean, we did air/cruise with the TA. This hotel was where they put us for the night. We have used it a number of times since. We now book our own air/hotel and save a significant amount. The last two times, we stayed in Ft. Lauderdale. Again, a significant $$ difference. We rented a car with Enterprise. Picked it up at one airport and dropped it off at the other. Then took a quick taxi to the peer.
TheSkipper
Debbie, We too also fly into Ft. Lauderdale almost all the time. Azamara booked our hotel and they still flew us into Ft. Lauderdale and provided us a transfer to the Wyndam, Miami Airport. So there is little doubt it was cheaper for them as well. We did US Air this time, but usually do Southwest when we book it. Fletchmom
Hi, Does anyone have any more suggestions for staying in Miami for a couple days before our cruise in August? I'd like to find something affordable along the waterfront if possible. Thank you
DebbieandJerry
Definitely look at Bayside. You can walk to shops and restaurants. A few years back we stayed at one of the hotels by the airport. I don't remember the name but I do remember that it was affordable.
