JoeyandDavid
I had the same thought and I appreciate the question and the answer. Does the TA, JOHN, handle trip insurance for the cruise or is each person responsible for doing it on their own? Another question - Does everyone arrange their own pre-night hotel stay at wherever or does a "group leader" make arrangements and make that info available to those going on the cruise? Again - this is the first time that I am looking at a cruise arranged on this board and trying to pick up on how things are done here. Thanks, Judson Patten Judson... we are very very informal here... John of course can handle your booking and trip insurance as well if that is what you so desire... As far as hotel accommodation's... in the past most have basically did what ever made each of us happy when it came to our booking hotels ( you know some folks need 8 star hotels and others just need a place to rest before boarding the ship the next day).. as for this group.. as we continue to plan this cruise.. that is ..all of us together planning... we will through discussions, come up with a group recommended hotel.... we normally base our selections on cleanliness, location and of course price.. Once we have determined which hotel ...I or John will then try and arrange special pricing for CruiseCrazies Group for rooms at that hotel.. this in no way means you have to take advantage of our recommendation or even our group price (who knows you could have coupons!!)you are free to book any hotel you so desire.. The main selling points for our cruise are a great ship.. a great cruise line ..a great friendly bunch of people ...and a great Itinerary.. add on a great price and On Board Credit ($100.00) and an official lapel pin.. who could ask for more.. Well to be honest I could .. but I am a bit greedy...LOL Seriously though if you are interested please call john ... discuss it with him there is no charge for consultation... If you have any more questions please feel free to ask!! Hope you book! its going to be great!
zebra
Judson, just thought I'd tell you my experience - when I booked with John he offered us the Travel Insurance. To be honest with you I prefer to take insurance when I book a cruise - it just gives us "peace of mind", so the answer is yes we bought travel insurance at the same time as we paid our deposit. But as Joey says feel free to contact John - he's a great help and will be able to answer all your questions. If you do join the cruise, please join us on our Roll Call thread where we can all discuss the pros and cons of different hotels in Miami and also discuss many more aspects of this fun cruise that we're going to have together. I sure hope you join us..... I'm just sorry that this cruise is still 557 days away!!
PATJUD
Thanks I hope I can work this out but I need a bit more time in the thought stage. Judson Patten
JoeyandDavid
Thanks I hope I can work this out but I need a bit more time in the thought stage. Judson Patten That is totally understandable... I think everyone needs to "sleep" on major decisions!! Were we able to answer most of your questions?
MarcyandJames
won't be able to go this time. Just started posting on this website and just found out about the group cruise. We have already booked a March 2009 Hawaii cruise, so maybe we will check out the next group cruise. Sounds like fun. We went on a group cruise on our very first cruise through a local radio station, it was a blast. Also met our best friends on that cruise and have cruised every cruise since then with them. Judson Patten Judson I can't help you there ... we are flying in from LA and with the cruise over 500 days away and can't book airfare until 331 days out of our return... .. oh boy I have no idea..LOL ,,, but it does sound like you are "leaning" towards joining us!! zebra
Judson, when you book your airfare trying looking into Southwest Airlines flying into Ft. Lauderdale - they have the best deals. And as you know Ft. Lauderdale and Miami just run into one, so you can take a taxi to your hotel.
