PATJUD
Welcome aboard Judson. Glad you and Louise are joining us. Thanks "Rose" I see your next cruise will be aboard "The Mariner of the Seas." I loved that ship. In fact, it is my favorite of the ones that we've cruised on. We were aboard the "Mariner" leaving Port Canaveral just one week after one of Florida's hurricanes the year they had so many of them. In fact we thought that there might be a possibility of the cruise being cancelled. Then while we were at sea, there was another hurricane that hit Florida and damaged Port Canaveral. The hurricane struck the weekend that we were to return to port so we cruised around the Caribbean for 3 extra days and finally had to dock in Miami. Royal Caribbean had to bus all of us back to Port Canaveral. So the 7 day cruise turned into an 11 day cruise. It was kinda tough on those that had to fly home and also contact home and work and let everyone know that they would not be home when expected and also that they didn't know when they would be home. Being retired - it was wonderful for us and we had a great time with the extended days.

Judson, we were on the west coast cruising the Mexican Rivieria when the 4th hurricane hit........I remember the Mariner having to dock in Miami. We live about an hour from Pt. Canaveral. PATJUD
Yeah - We got to see the damage in Florida up close and personal as Royal Caribbean bused us from Miami to Canaveral. Trailer parks took tremendous hits and after seeing the amount of damage, I don't understand why anyone in Florida would risk living in a trailer. sailingrose
Manufactured homes have come a long way in the last 20 years but it wouldn't be my choice to live in full time.
