Judson - what a great solution to your house-sitting gift. Sounds like a win-win situation for all involved. I watched my neighbors house a few years ago and she brought me back wind chimes for my deck. Guess who was the first to complain about them making noise all night long? lol

Since them we have decided to just keep an eye on each others homes and not bring gifts back for each other.

Todays Question:

Lunches... do you prefer the grill by the pool.. the buffet or the dining room or...?

I really love having meals in the dining room. I like having breakfast in the dining room. I love having lunch in the dining room and I love having dinner in the dining room. I'm not fond at all of eating in the heat. I'm really not fond of the buffet but will do an occasional lunch there or breakfast there if leaving the ship early. But - the dining room has my vote - LOL!!!

On sea days, we usually eat in the dining room, unless the buffet has something special, such as Asian day. The east Asian lunch on the Noordam was one of the best meals we've ever had.

On shore days, we're usually in a rush to get back onshore, so we usuallly eat at the buffet. If we can find an outdoor spot with some shade, we'll eat ouside; but such spots are hard to find. As for the grill, we occasionally have some chicken or fish (never a hamburger or hot dog); but that's part of a meal, not our whole meal. We'll still go to the buffet for salads and dessert.

While I do enjoy the dining room for dinner we generally have the buffet for breakfast and lunch. Part of the reason for that is most of our cruises are on Royal Caribbean and their breakfast menu is always the same in the DR and their lunch menu is the same each day with just 1 new special of the day selection. We prefer the variety offered at the buffet. If they had a different menu each day, we would definately use the dining room more often.

Lunches are almost always either the grill or the buffet. We have, on occcasion, had lunch in the dining room. Usually, though, the dining room is closed by the time we eat lunch. On sea days, we don't eat breakfast very early, and don't get to lunch early either. On port days, we don't want to take the time to sit in the dining room.
