DebbieandJerry
Todays Question: As part of you nightly entertainment....Do you go to the ships disco? Not really. Most of the time, we can't stay up that late.
Joanandjoe
I suppose that some of the ship's we've sailed on had a disco, but some certainly have not. Frankly, we've never noticed them, much less gone to one. We're very early earlybirds.
JoeyandDavid
Todays Question: After booking your cruise... how much planning for the actual cruise portion do you do??.. Keep in mind I am not referring to airfare or hotel planning... I am talking just for the cruise portion... so is it... a little??.. a lot?? or... none? kmills
I would say a lot. I am always looking at the ports trying to decide what we are going to do. That is the fun of it.
deb1220
Todays Question: As part of you nightly entertainment....Do you go to the ships disco? My DH and I have never been but on our last RCI-AOS cruise the DS was finally old enough (you have to be at least 18) to go to "Jester's" and loved it!!! deb1220
We do a little planning - looking through the brochure, excursions, etc., but usually just "wing-it"!
Joanandjoe
We do a lot of background reading and a lot of planning, and try to have plans A, B, and C as to what to do in port. That really paid off when we were in Quebec City: pouring rain wiped out plans A (Parks Canada tour of the fortifications) and B (walking around the lower city), but we had a discount coupon for plan C, a taxi tour. We managed to do a lot of planning even for our two last minute (booked less than two weeks before the trip) cruises.
sailingrose
If it's an itinerary we haven't done, lots of planning. If it's the caribbean we do very little as we've been to most of the ports already.
PATJUD
Todays Question: After booking your cruise... how much planning for the actual cruise portion do you do??.. Keep in mind I am not referring to airfare or hotel planning... I am talking just for the cruise portion... so is it... a little??.. a lot?? or... none? OMG!!!!! A LOT - It's almost something every night. I have to study about each port that we will be visiting. Time is so limited in each port and I want to read about all the things that we won't have time to do plus I want to try and pick the things that we can do and see the most of the port in the limited time that we have. I usually wind up taking some kind of planned transportation tour of the port city that takes a couple hours to a half day. I also like to see some of the area outside the port city if possible. Louise doesn't do days in the sun so we really don't get much beach time - jeeeeeeesh, I can get a beach lounge chair and stay on the beach all day long. I'm one of those people that stays brown all year long - one way or the other. I've already been "googling" a couple of the islands just checking the attractions and the options available. Then I save my finds to my favorite places so I can visit them over and over. I also go to EBAY and see if I can pick up some tourist books about the areas for "cheap" - LOL. Antoine's by the Sea it is a french resturant that sits on the beach it has lounge chairs with umbrellas for 5 bucks for the day... and a cabana boy to serve you ..the Hamburglers are fantastic..
