cruisetarp
I love to research, research, research. I already have a folder for the Constellation, one for Miami and one for each port on our CruiseCrazies group cruise. When I find things that might interest us I stick it in the folder - then when it gets close to sailing time, I'll go through and weed out what I want to keep and what no longer interests me. It helps the time pass a little quicker.

zebra
I love the research as well - I think the planning phase is so exciting. We love to plan for the ports that are new to us - so I would say we do a lot of planning!!
cruisetarp
sounds like a great idea Joey. We can all research a port and find out things to do there. We do plan on going to Antoine's By The Sea this time in St. Maarten. You had spoken of it in the past but last year Heather was so busy looking for that perfect Coach bag that we ran out of time. 55ChevyLady
Since our cruise was our first cruise all I did was research and plan. My husband surprised me with idea of going on the cruise just 3 months prior. I stayed on the computer daily looking up sites and printing out possible things to do then all we ended up doing in port was walking around and shopping! We had an excursion planned in Progresso but it had started to sprinkle rain and the tour people offered us our money back so we took it and just shopped. The weather ended up clearing up after all. For our next cruise I have all ready started researching things we can do with the girls, since I really don't want to JUST take them shopping. rogue
Quite a bit. We research all of the ports were stopping at so we can get the most out of our excursions.
DebbieandJerry
I think that half of the fun is the daily research. Marcy and I change our minds on a regular basis as to what we want to do, see, experience, etc. We use magazines, books, internet sites, the travel channel (on t.v.) -- whatever. We also try to mix and match so that we have a variety of things to do. There was one cruise where Jerry actually told people that he didn't know where we were going but he was sure it was going to be a blast. I think he got so confused over all the choices that we were throwing out for discussion that he just took the back seat of "live and let live, so long as we are on a cruise ship." As mentioned on previous posts, we have made last minute excursion changes after we have been on the ship (based on weather, other people's experiences, friends we have met). And, yes, returning to "favorite" spots is much easier to wing.
KeithnRita
Todays Question: Where are you during sail-away? It the middle of it! Todays Question... how often do you have Breakfast in your stateroom/veranda Only a couple times in 16 cruises. Todays Question: As part of you nightly entertainment....Do you go to the ships disco? If the band is playing music we like. Todays Question: After booking your cruise... how much planning for the actual cruise portion do you do??.. Keep in mind I am not referring to airfare or hotel planning... I am talking just for the cruise portion... so is it... a little??.. a lot?? or... none? Hardly any. We do things spur of the moment. Suzila
1. Where are you during sail-away? On deck, watching the ship sail. --- 2. how often do you have Breakfast in your stateroom/veranda? Never. We always go to either the dining room, or the buffet for breakfast. --- 3. As part of you nightly entertainment....Do you go to the ships disco? Yes, definitely, karaoke too. We always check out the entertainment. --- 4. After booking your cruise... how much planning for the actual cruise portion do you do??.. Keep in mind I am not referring to airfare or hotel planning... I am talking just for the cruise portion... so is it... a little??.. a lot?? or... none? More than anyone else we know. I want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING before we go, and my family and friends depend on me to tell them all about it BEFORE we sail.
