rogue
Without a doubt, it was me.
zebra
My Idea ...... I'm the big planner in the family - Tony is too happy to have everything taken care of...... he just pays!
TheSkipper
Just like you Howard, it was my idea. Too much "Love Boat" I guess. The Mardi Gras was not very much like the Love Boat, but it was great enough to get us "hooked."
PATJUD
The first cruise was my idea and it was in August of 2003. I had just retired after 37 years of teaching Middle School in June of 2003. All I knew was that when all my teaching buddies went back to school after summer vacation - I wanted to be on a ship sailing to the Caribbean on the first day of school - the 2003-2004 school year. I know absolutely nothing about cruising at that time. I had not discovered any of the cruise boards. I didn't have a TA. I simply went looking for any ship that was headed to the Caribbean from Tampa because I wanted to drive to the cruise port. The only thing that I found that met what I was looking for was a Western Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival's "Inspiration." So - that's the one I grabbed making my reservations through Carnival. I've since discovered a couple cruise boards and sailing groups on each and have several cruises under my belt now.
sailingrose
Guess I can credit DH with that one......it was our honeymoon and a cruise was his choice. I didn't like the idea at first but went along with him and went. I loved it! Took 10 years to get back to the sea after that (and a couple of kids) but we've loved it ever since. It worked so now I'm hooked. Guess it was his idea first then mine LOL.
Joanandjoe
Like most things in our 40 (then 30) years of marriage, it was a joint decision. Our first cruise, to Alaska, was for our 30th anniversary. At that point in our marriage, with the kids still in the house, we could only travel in the summer; and, because of my intense dislike of Hot weather, only to places that are cool in the summer. After trips to the Pacific Northwest, Canadian Rockies, and Iceland in the five years before 1998, Alaska seemed like a logical choice for that year. 55ChevyLady
That was fun ..Now on to.. Todays Question: Thinking back (if you can) whose "idea" was it to take your first cruise? It was my husband's, Jerry. He surprised me with the idea. The reason it was a suprise is because he gets car sick, air sick, train sick, you name it. He can't stand to be a passenger in a car, depends on who wants to drive! But back last Sept. he had his 2nd hernia operation and the surgeon asked him if he got sick post op after his 1st surgery and I said YES so the surgeon told him about "The Patch" you wear behind your ear. They put that on him and he never even got quesy after surgery. So anyway, When he asked me if I wanted to go on a cruise for our 25th anniversary I looked at him like he was crazy but he said he thought he could do with the patch. So we did, he wore his patch and we had the time of our lives Andrea
JoeyandDavid
Todays Question.... What year did you get your passport?
Joanandjoe
Joey, you need to clarify the question. I got my first passport in 1960, my current renewal (I've never let it lapse) in 2004. Do you mean first passport or current passport?
