Cruise Question Of the Day

I suppose one could live without any of the extra touches but why should we???? I love the towel animals. I look forward to seeing ours each night. I really hate to take them apart so if they are on the bed, I just carefully move them until someone takes them away - LOL!!!

I loved them to...On our cruise our daughter had us take one of her stuffed animals with us to keep us company, it was a dog. We left it on the bed on evening and when we come back after dinner the steward had made the towel animal to look like her dog and put both the dogs side by side on the bed with my husband's sunglasses on the towel animal! We took a picture, it was cute :cool2:

I think that the extra little touches are fine. Could we live without them? Sure. But when we get home, one of the first things we say when we're going to bed is, "Where's the chocolate?"

We also sit in a restaurant and wait for the waiter to put the napkin in my lap, and sit on my deck waiting for someone to offer us a drink. That, for some reason, never happens.

I guess we're in the minority on both parts of the question.

We love feeling pampered, but neither the towel animals nor the chocolates adds to that sense of pampering. Since I'm allergic to chocolate and Joan is on a perpetual diet, we either throw out the chocolates or bring them home for a friend. Since we'll have a cruise tour for five days after our next cruise (starting in 13 days!), the "bring them home for a friend" option won't be there, so either the chocolates will be thrown out, or we'll ask the stewardess not to leave them.

As for the towel animals, we only had them on one of our twelve cruises, the new Noordam. We thought they were cute, but frankly would have preferred that the overworked stewards didn't have the work of making them. On our two cruises since the cruise that had the towel animals, we didn't have them, and didn't miss them at all.

Todays Question:

Those little mints on the pillows... the towel animals on the bed..those little touches that we all have seen ...

Do you like those touches or could you live without them?

Sure, I could live without them but it just adds a little "extra" to the cruise experience. I, too am guilty of taking a picture of the towel animal every evening. As for the chocolates, my DH and DS take care of those

My goodness you're ALL newbies. I got my first passport in 1953 and have had a "current" passport ever since. I've had to renew many times because the passport was Full!!

1960 isn't all THAT much after you; but I, too, was surprised at the number of people who didn't get passports until recently.

Another recent question was whether one notifies credit card companies before a trip. Without that question, I might have forgotten to do so. Thank you, Joey, for asking. I've just finished calling MC, Visa, and Amex regarding our 5/26 trip.
