P.S. The panythose, belts, and women's scarf I mentioned were all stuff I would pack. You can always take clothing, etc and duct tape and wrap it around a leaking water hose and make it to a service station.

I remember that tip...

The only thing "out of the ordinary" that I have packed is the packing bubble wrap for the liquor bottles that we now have to store in our suitcases. Never thought about any type of tape.

With the new luggage rules, I doubt we'll even be buying any liquor, so there goes the bubble wrap.

We have never taken duct tape on a cruise before, maybe scotch or masking tape.

Since Jenn was the one to come up with this question and seems to be a big fan of duct tape, I just wondered if she watched "Red Green" on CBC or had seen "Duct Tape Forever" (the movie) or if anyone else has seen these. Great shows!!!

Yes we always take duct tape! I've use it for various things........in the past I have used it to tape the Crazies sign to the door, fix ripped luggage, fixing a fallen hem on my pants and for securing any glass items I may have purchased. I have a flat package of it in every car also. Great all around tool for me.

We have used it - once for a major suitcase rip - disn't want my dainties (oh heck - granny panties) spilling all over the luggage carousel. Also did the hem trick and used it ti "batten down" the Canadian flag we always have on our balcony.

It could also come in handy for taping unruly teenagers to the walls!....and if you are a heavy drinker or have short term memory loss you could make little arrows and tape them to the hallway carpet so you could find your way back to your room. ;o)

We found flat packs of duct tape at Big Lots - much easier to pack and very much lighter.
