Cruise Question Of the Day

Yesterdays question about anything special you do before you go on a cruise:

Like all the women said, must have the hair highlighted and nails done...

All my life growing up at home whenever I went on vacation with my parents my Mother would clean the house from top to bottom...she said if "something was to happen to us" she didn't want the mourners coming into her house and it being dirty.......Great thought for a little kid I always thought I don't go all out but I do leave it "company clean". I quess I don't want to tempt fate??

Todays Question:

Lunches... do you prefer the grill by the pool.. the buffet or the dining room or...?

by the pool if we ccould find a spot for lunch and dinner in the dining room, for breakfast we could always find a spot by the pool.

Andrea - that is so funny - I always said I had to clean the house because I would be coming home with all sorts of dirty laundry and wanted things to be organized for that chore. However I suddenly heard my dear Mom giving us the line about "if something happens to us" etc. I hadn't though of her saying that in years. Thanks for the happy memory. I guess I'm more like my mom than I thought.

Sat. question about lunches - We do both, but I prefer the grill during sea days for we I do not want to miss a moment of the sun.

Sunday's question - We most certainly have to go get the hair, the nails and the toes done before we go. But I have to agree with Marylou and Andrea. The house must be clean from top to bottom.

My we are all a bunch of cleaners aren't we? LOL

Lunch is almost always at the buffet. I really prefer breakfast in the dining room however but rarely get to go since Howie doesn't care for it.

When you speak of the buffet and eating by the pool, not missing the sun- we've done that before- but, what about in Alaska?

LaurieM many of the ships to Alaska have covered pool areas so that isn't a problem but if the have no roof we're inside at the buffet.

Gotta agree on this one. This is the first song that came to my mind when I read the question. This is the same song that as soon as I hear it on the radio (or my CD) I turn up the volume and start dancing ... doesn't matter where I am.

Preparations before the cruise include:

Cut, color (both of us): Yes, Jerry gets a few streaks of blonde put in his hair. Hides the gray AND helps him look like he's been in the sun.

Wax: Just me. He couldn't stand the pain.

Massage: I love to have one before I leave and right after I get back.

Last minute to the store to get snacks that you don't get on the airplane and don't see on the cruise ship.

As for house cleaning, I try to get that done before the pampering. Certainly don't want to undo how good I feel
