cruisetarp
We certainly feel blessed everytime we book another cruise or board another ship. Ray - Bermuda is my all time favorite port and one of the places I never get tired of visiting. I'd go again tomorrow if I could. The Canada/New England cruises were wonderful. We did it 2 years in a row, same itinerary, same week of the year even. First time we had 12" of snow in Quebec - second year it was in the high 70's. rogue
What would you give up on a cruise to help keep the prices lower?
Joanandjoe
TTFN. We probably won't log back on before we leave for our cruise. Let's see if I remember them all. Alaska includes the ports we're about to visit. Alaska: Vancouver, Victoria, Seward. Sitka, Skagway, Valdez, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Ketchikan. Bermuda: Hamilton, St. George Canada/New England: New York, Boston, Newport, Martha's Vinyard, Portland, Bar Harbour, Charlottetown, St. John, Halifax, Sydney, Quebec City, Montreal. Europe: Nice, Villefrance, Palma, Ibiza, Lisbon, Portimao, Malaga, Marsellles, Sete, Tangier, Amsterdam, Arnhein, Antwerp, and five or six others. Caribbean and Central America: Tampa, Puerto Limon, Colon, Panama Canal, Grand Cayman, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, Tobago, St. Maartin, Pigeon Island, Mayreau, and several others. PATJUD
What would you give up on a cruise to help keep the prices lower? Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!! I don't know that there's anything cruise connected that could be given up to lower the price. Personally: 1. I stopped using the internet during a cruise to keep up with the people at home that I wanted to keep up with. Text messaging cost next to nothing for communicating with family on the same phone network. 2. I do without cokes during a cruise and drink tea and water which is better for you anyway. 3. I don't do the specialty restaurants as I think the food in the dining rooms are great. 4. As we've cruised more, I've realized that all those on board ship purchases are totally unnecessary. 5. I decided not to buy booze to bring home. 6. We don't need to do the spa treatments on board ship - we have places at home that are as good but cost less. However - Louise is absolutely not going to miss her weekly hair appointment just because we're on a cruise and I surely wouldn't think of suggesting it even though she could go twice at home versus once on board ship - LOL!!! 7. I like my cocktails and wine aboard ship and the prices really aren't bad but I can save money here very easily. 8. I'm not going to do an inside cabin to save money - That's not an option. As I said - I've learned these few items as we've cruised but they have cut down expenses significantly.
