TheSkipper
If you're talking about excursions, then my thought for cruises is 'do on a cruise what you wouldn't do at home'. I would never go white water rafting, nor would I go ziplining, just like this. It takes a cruise for me to do activities like that. If you're talking about the actual cruise, I guess I could say trying escargot would be something I wouldn't do at home. (you didn't want to hear about the balcony thing in the middle of the night, did you?) Yea, Sue we do want to hear about the "balcony thing." hazelson
If they could see me now - definately horseback riding on the beach in Mazatlan! And I miss the salty stuff when we are cruising - have to remember to pack some of those little bags of chips :o) Don't have much of a sweet tooth - cuz I'm sweet enough
MarcyandJames
For me it would be hula dance on stage in front of a lot of people, for my husband James it would be hula dance on stage in font of a lot of people WITH COCONUTS ON. That was really funny.
cruisetarp
The kids still don't believe that when I'm on a cruise I don't fall asleep watching the 10PM news and I'm out dancing the night away. As far as tours go they had to see the CD of me swimming with the stingrays before they believed it.
sailingrose
Hard to pick only one thing.......Probably helicopter ride in Alaska would be my top choice.
DebbieandJerry
Hey, balcony things are great things! Have to agree with Marcy on the hula dancing. Taking the lessons was one thing. Performing in front of everyone was another. As for food, I remember the first time we had strawberry soup. Had to order another bowl! Then there was the peanut soup. Oh was that awful (but we tried it). As for Jerry, he would probably say: "Standing in front of everyone with my pants rolled up over my thighs in order to participate in the knobby knee contest." Mind you, everyone else on a Caribbean cruise wears shorts, bathing suits, bathing suit cover ups. Not Jerry. No matter what, no matter where, you will find him in a long-sleeved cotton shirt and long pants.
KeithnRita
Okay, here's another question that popped into my head as I was driving to work this morning ... Think back on all of the cruises that you have taken. What one thing did you do ("Oh if my friends could see me now?") that you are pretty sure you wouldn't do "at home". Being on stage for the Rock and Roldies show on the Maasdam. I was Elvis and Rita was one of the Splish-Splash girls for Bobby Darin. hazelson
Let's try this one: While cruising do you turn in at the same time and get up the same time as you do at home? We know Mary Lou becomes a night owl - how about the rest of you? We usually don't shut the lights off til 1:00 in the morning and dh always sleeps in. So it's pretty much the same for us. Suzila
We stay up later on a cruise than we do at home...at home, we go to sleep by 9:00pm, and wake up at 4:30am for work. No way do I wake up at 4:30am on a cruise! And Skipper, there may be kids reading this website. Just use your imagination...Debbie knows what the 'balcony thing' is all about. LOL! deb1220
We stay up later and sleep in a little later but I, for one, still don't get 8 hours of shut-eye on a cruise. I can always sleep when I get home.
