Suzila
How does he vacuum out the air when packing on the ship to go home, Joey? I've used them at home, but they don't work for me. I have blankets and pillows under our bed in storage, but the bags expand...the air takes over and it's so hard to pull it out from under the bed again! Is there a different type to use for packing...something that works, and doesn't expand?

jacketwatch
I suppose the other airlines will do the same.

DebbieandJerry
I'm laughing as I imagine trying to squeeze the air out of the bags in the (tiny) state room. I can just see all four of us pushing and squeezing and laughing as we try to repack "vacuumed" clothes. Just might have to add that to our photo gallery. MarcyandJames
well maybe we could ask the room steward to borrow their vaccum
Rat
I think the extra charges are a joke. Passengers are going to have larger "carry ons" to circumvent the second bag charge. What a disaster the boarding process is going to be.......
DebbieandJerry
Next thing, they'll eliminate the carry-ons all together. Unfortunately, we have come to rely on air travel so we really are stuck between the rock and the hard place.
PATJUD
I was totally surprised at the amount of carry on baggage allowed when we flew round trip from Atlanta to Los Angeles this past February for our cruise on the "Pride." It looked like the old days with what people were allowed to bring on. Trying to avoid problems, we had nothing in our hands but two little bags - one Louise's pocketbook and the other a small bag that I carried to hold passports and travel documents. MarcyandJames
Each bag must: Weigh 50 pounds (22.5 kg) or less. Not exceed 62 inches when you total length plus width plus height. Excess Baggage Amount Fee - more than the 1 bag Travel within the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico Bag 2 (starting May 5, 2008) $25 Bags 3, 4, and 5 $80 each Bags 6, 7, and 8 $110 each Bags 9 and 10 $180 each Travel outside the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico Bags 3, 4, and 5 $150 each Bags 6, 7, and 8 $300 each Bags 9 and 10 $600 each Wow this looks like our water bills. In Arizona after the alowed basic charge for water, it doubles then triples the price per gallon of water just like these bag charges do. Maybe we are going to have to join the nude cruises, then we would not have to worry about any suitcases. LOL
