I used orbitz to book our san juan flights... they are fine ... no problems.. $13.50 transaction charge... was the only other charge

JohnG
I use them to price the flights, see which airline is best and then go to the airline website to buy the ticket, saving the service charge.

That is not always the case John.. for example after pricing both round trips on Delta and American Airlines... for our trip to San Juan I went to Orbitz to price other airlines...and was surprised when they offered me the round trip for 300 pp less by splitting our flight up to into 2 airlines ...AA going and Delta coming back... I will say that is the first time they were ever able to save us money. I too normally just use them only for price checks and then buy directly from the individual supplier. DebbieandJerry
I look at all the search engines and the airline websites. I have used Expedia the most. I have even used them for my bosses when they travel. With Expedia, I put in my vacation "wants" and then I get email prompts letting me know the gonga deals. We have stayed at some fabulous places for a fraction of the costs. Sometimes I just use Expedia for hotel and/or car. It pays to shop around. We have "bid" on Priceline and actually got a fabulous deal a few years back. But, you need to know your market (hotel, location, etc.)
